Little Touches of Spring and Easter

It's been such a beautiful day today, and the lighting inside the house is gorgeous. It makes me want to decorate the entire house and take lots and lots of pictures. I decided to add little touches of spring and Easter to my kitchen by adding a little greenery, eggs, and bunnies.

Aren't those moss bunnies cute? I got them at Michael's.

Do you spy a little washboard? I got it at a little antique store in Galveston, Texas

The galvanized canisters are from Decor Steals, and the egg nests are from Kirkland's.

Also, have I ever told you how much I love succulents? The other day I went to Lowe's with my husband to buy a barbecue grill, and I came back home with a few new succulents.

I feel like succulents add life to the room, and I love that they require very little maintenance. Those little pots are from the Dollar store. You can get 3 of them for just $1. Isn't that great?

I am gonna get going now because my hubby is using his new grill to make us some burgers. Yay!

Have a lovely weekend, guys!

My Visit to the Magnolia Market

If you know me, you know I am a HUGE Fixer Upper fan. I love Joanna Gaines' style, and think that Chip is hilarious. Their family is so cute, and the houses that they fix and design are stunning. So I have been wanting to go to Waco for a very long time. When they inaugurated the Magnolia Market at the Silos, I wanted to go so bad. I didn't get to go to the grand opening, but I did get to visit the store this past weekend. Yay! It was Valentine's weekend, so my hubby and I went on a road trip to Waco. I seriously felt as excited as I feel when I go to Disneyland.

Here is a picture of us on the road:

When we got to Waco, we went straight to In-N-Out, which is only 2 minutes away from the Magnolia Market. We live in the Houston area, and they don't have In-N-Out here, but they have one in Waco. Go figure! So we ate our yummy burgers and fries, then went to the Silos. You guys, that place is amazing! You can tell that Chip and Joanna put a lot of thought and love into it. I was there for at least two hours doing multiple laps around the store and looking at every little detail.

The pictures don't do justice to the place. You have to go and look at it in person to understand why so many people love the Magnolia Market so much. I know that some people complain about the prices, but you obviously can't compare it to places like Hobby Lobby and Michael's. It's a big boutique. It's a one of a kind store. But you can still find good deals. I bought a lot goodies that were on sale. Just to give you an idea of prices, I bought some potted sage bushes that I had been wanting for a long time. They usually cost about $36 (not only at Magnolia Market, but also at other stores), and I bought them on sale for $21.60. I also bought flowers, vases, cotton stems, cake plates, a metal sign, ceramic birds, a wreath, a metal basket and one of the big Magnolia Farms tray. The entire purchase was less than $250. I thought it was a pretty good deal.

Here is a picture of my husband holding everything that we bought. Let's hope he never sees this picture posted here or I may be in big trouble. Haha...

After spending a very long time inside the store, I went outside to look around. The outside is SO pretty too. The garden is beautiful, and the silos themselves are gorgeous. They have food trucks, many picnic tables, and a big grass area for kids to play. I was lucky enough to be there at sunset, so the colors were perfect.

If you also love the show, you should go. The Magnolia Market is amazing, and Waco is a charming little town. Tomorrow I will post more about our trip to Waco. There are many other cute and cool places to check out.

xoxo,
Gaby

Romantic Table Setting

Since Valentine's Day is almost here, I decided to make a romantic flower arrangement for our small table. I am not a florist, but I love flowers and try to make arrangements myself. I used good quality silk flowers because I wanted it to last a long time while looking as real as possible.

My mom gave me the flower napkin rings, which she made herself. She also gave me some extra flowers. So all I had to do was to find a nice vase and some more flowers and greenery that would go well with what I already had.  I found that pretty vase/base at Hobby Lobby.

If you don't feel like making your own napkin rings, I have seen some very similar ones at Pier 1 Imports.

Those beautiful cream charger plates came from Kirklands. They were on sale for only $1.99 each. Score!

Now, how beautiful are these little love birds? They are perfection! I have no idea where to find it in the United States. My mother gave them to me. She used to own a couple home decor stores in Brazil, and these were from her store. She also gave me the embroidered linen napkins. Thank you, mom! You are the best!

This is our breakfast nook. The dinning room is still empty, but when I do furnish and decorate it, I will share pictures with you guys. Right now I am working on our office/guest room. I will reveal it here once it is ready.

Sending love your way,
Gaby

Sweet Tea Party

Today I am going to share pictures of the Sweet Tea Party that my sister-in-law and I threw for my beautiful little niece. Everything was done on a budget, but it turned out beautifully.

Favor Bags: we bought all the paper bags for less than $2, then I added the butterflies, and finished by adding a pretty lace clothespin and a balloon. The butterflies and the clothespins came from the $1.50/$3.00 section at Michael's, and so did that "B" and the little flowery glasses.

The beautiful chalkboard signs were done by my sister's other sister-in-law. She is very talented, and so good at chalkboard art. The lovely cake pops were made by another family member. Talk about teamwork!

We couldn't find the right colored paper doilies, so my sis-in-law dyed them herself. She made a banner with doilies, and I used them to decorate the bottles and popcorn cups, and also as a runner for the counter.

I made some chocolate covered pretzels with sprinkles. They turned out cute and delicious. The cake and most of the food items were from Costco, and the macaroons from Trader Joe's.

We also set up a small table for the little ones. My sister-in-law bought a tea set at a thrift store, and some fake grass cut into placemats at Home Depot. I bought the butterfly paper cups and plates at Party City, and the paper lanterns at Michael's. Here is how it turned out:

My sweet niece was so happy and enjoyed every second of her special day. I was delighted to be able to help her mama with this party. I would do it all over again. I hope you all enjoyed the pictures and details. Please feel free to ask any questions, and thank you so much for visiting my blog. Have a lovely day!
